Singer Model 15-86 Sewing Machine Parts

This collection contains parts for the Singer sewing machine model 15-86 (RAF Decals).

The Singer Model 15-86, part of the renowned Class 15 family, has quite a story to tell. During the 1930s, some 15K models produced at the Kilbowie plant in Scotland were adorned with distinctive “RAF” decals (Royal Air Force). These decals were originally designed by William Hopper, who worked at the Singer plant in Kilbowie. Imagine these sewing machines proudly stitching away, perhaps even in the company of aviators! As for needles and bobbins, the Model 15-86 uses a 15x1 needle (also known as the 2020 or 130/705h) and the class 15 bobbin. This bobbin loads vertically to the left side of the machine, accessible from below the slide plate or underneath if the machine is in a treadle or cabinet setup.
